Titanic Disaster!

Built in Belfast, the Titanic set sail from Belfast on 12th April 1912. Disaster struck three days later when she ran into an iceberg in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean!

In this exciting history project, the children learnt about life in 1912 and the differences between first, second and third class passengers. They sequenced historical events and evaluated reasons for the sinking. We enjoyed meeting Andy from the SeaCity museum. He brought artefacts for us to handle as well as challenging us to decide which passengers we thought deserved a place on a lifeboat.

As our topic outcome, we dressed up and boarded our very own Titanic.
