Ricky Lewis

I was born in Portsmouth and have lived here for most of my life. I am a Mental Health Nurse by background. I trained and qualified in Bristol in 2003, and after about a year living in Grimsby, I moved back to Portsmouth. I have worked with various client groups including older people who have Dementia, adults of working age, and younger people at risk of developing a Psychotic illness.

I have 2 young children, a daughter, 5, who attends Cumberland, and a son, 3, who attends nursery. I made a decision late last year to become a stay at home father, a role which I find very rewarding (and hard work). I have a keen interest in the wellbeing and education of children and I decided to become a school governor so that I could be more in touch with children's development. I am new in post (November 2016) but am very much enjoying my role.

I feel that it is vital that children get the best start in life that they can, and I believe that Cumberland School has this at the forefront of its priorities
