Nick Gauntlett

I was born and brought up in Portsmouth before going away to London University and then to career jobs in London and Oxfordshire for 12 years. I returned to Portsmouth in 2005 and lived in Gunwharf Quays and then in Southsea before moving to Bedfordshire in the summer of 2016.

I have three young children the eldest of whom attended Cumberland Infant School until we moved out of the area.

My training and background is largely in food and agriculture but I have worked in several other sectors as well as a manager, recruiter and consultant amongst other things - both in the UK and abroad. My time is now spent running my own business in the Fleet Management sector and involved in property in a modest way. I am also a trustee of a small educationally focused charity in the City and separately I advise overseas families looking to send their children for education in the UK.

As well as time spent as a Governor of CIS, out of work I am a keen (though rather lapsed) sportsman with an increasingly dusty tennis racket amongst other kit. I have two marathons and a number of half marathons under my belt but that is now in my fast-fading memory! "Keen spectator" is probably the likely title for me going forwards given the age of my children and the increasing 'touchline duties' ahead of me.
